Cali Bondad

Cali Bondad is an Asian American director based in Los Angeles. Her unique lens is influenced by her mixed ethnic background and her deep personal ties to nature, surfing, cycling, piano, photography and writing short stories.

Her career in the advertising world began as an editor at Mekanism ad agency. She edited some of the top commercials during her tenure, leading to her ultimate calling as a director. With her editorial background, she possesses an intuitive and insightful directing style. She aims to find the beauty, humor and humanity within the frame. Often times, Cali will take on both the directing and editing as a holistic creative approach.

Her adept visual storytelling has ranged in themes as athletic, lifestyle, family, fashion and dialog. She has collaborated with a diverse roster of brands, such as Nike, NBA, YouTube, Levi’s, Muscle Milk, Google and The North Face.

Cali has directed some of the top athletes in the world including Serena Williams, Abby Wambach (Gold medalist), Kevin Durant (NBA), Steph Curry (NBA), Anthony Davis (NBA) and the New Orleans Pelicans ‘2018 (NBA).

Her bold, alluring and energetic work has been featured on Vimeo Staff Picks, National Geographic, The Atlantic, PBS, Slate and Popular Science. She’s received awards for her editing on The North Face’s ‘Never Stop’ anthem and was featured as a ‘New Female Director’ in the One Show Film Festival 2017
